Hanaã achieved her law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where she participated in multiple student-led organizations and received her certification in Natural Resource and Environmental Law. While at Sturm, Hanaã had the opportunity to practice environmental justice through the law school’s environmental law clinic where she fiercely advocated for the health of community members and the environment.
She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona in her hometown of Tucson, Arizona, where she graduated summa cum laude. Throughout her academic career, Hanaã clerked at multiple Public Defender offices where she had the privilege of connecting and aiding those who were caught in the throes of our justice system.
Hanaã began her legal career at a local non-profit, aiding non-citizens in petitioning for status through U-Visa’s and under the Violence Against Women Act. Hanaã then pivoted to private sector criminal defense, where she mastered her craft in aiding the accused from the investigation through post-conviction phases of criminal cases. Through her various professional and personal experiences, Hanaã felt called to widen her practice to include Family Law so that she may continue to assist others throughout some of the most challenging times in their lives. Hanaã’s client-centered approach to family law, in addition to her extensive litigation experience, makes her a fearless advocate for those with family law needs.
When Hanaã is not in court or drafting motions, you can find her volunteering at Colorado Lawyers Committee’s legal night where she holds a position as a steering committee member alongside others who help conduct pro bono legal clinics in the Denver metro area. Outside of the legal world, Hanaã loves seeing the latest films at the movie theater, practicing yoga, and spending time with her couch-potato cat, April.
